Though diversity programs in many of America’s leading corporations had their genesis in a federal mandate today’s successful companies understand that adapting their corporate culture and population to reflect those of the previously underrepresented and underutilized groups can have a positive impact to their bottom line. Business ownership and spending power of minorities and women have increased exponentially over the past 30 years. In today’s competitive marketplace, corporations stake their reputations on their relationships with diverse communities. National advocacy organizations that represent these diverse communities publicize the fact that M/WBEs and diverse consumers will demand something in return for brand loyalty – they will spend their dollars with companies that support their communities.
The ever-increasing need to achieve economies of scale has compelled corporations from all industries to search for cost-effective ways to reach their goals across all revenue streams. Companies must balance budgetary constraints and the necessity to communicate their message to the all-important diverse business, as well as general, population.
While there are myriad publications from which to choose, the award-winning MWIB, a national, four-color, glossy, business-to-business trade magazine should be included in the print media mix.
Why? Because MWIB readers are involved readers. They view MWIB as an integral part of their business community – they consistently laud MWIB’s editorial integrity.
Established in the early ‘80s, MWIB magazine is an advocate for M/WBEs who have the greatest capacity to successfully compete for and capture corporate contracts. MWIB serves as a conduit between corporate America and the M/WBE business community. Washington, DC-based L&S Companies, Inc, a wholly minority-and woman-owned and operated corporation, purchased and re-launched MWIB magazine in April 1998.
