 AstraZeneca Names Davis Vp, Corporate Communications

 

            AstraZeneca announced the appointment of Lisa R. Davis to the position of Vice President, Corporate Communications.  In her new position, Davis will be based in AstraZeneca’s U.S. headquarters in Wilmington, Del., and will be responsible for overseeing all internal and external corporate communications on behalf of AstraZeneca in the U.S.

                “With a history of discovering and developing some of the world's leading pharmaceutical products, AstraZeneca is committed to helping patients have access to the medicines and care they need to live longer, healthier lives," said Tony Zook, President and CEO, AstraZeneca U.S.  Today, the company is even more committed to making patient health a priority and to communicating effectively to people about how to stay healthy.

                AstraZeneca realizes the need to find different ways to reach people, as well as develop channels for them to communicate back, and hear what they have to say, noted David Nicoli, Vice President, Corporate Affairs for AstraZeneca U.S.  

                "Lisa is a top-notch communications professional and her diverse experiences coupled with her strategic leadership skills, are essential to AstraZeneca's communications efforts and a valuable asset to the Company,” he said.

                Davis most recently served as the head of Public Relations and Communications for AARP, the nation’s largest organization for people aged 50+.  Prior to joining AARP, she was the National Deputy Press Secretary for the Clinton/Gore ’96 Re-election Campaign.  From 1993-1996, Davis served as the Press Secretary for the Democratic Leadership Council and its associated think tank, the Progressive Policy Institute, where she was responsible for all public relations activities.  Davis holds Masters Degrees in Business Administration and in Public Administration from Howard University, Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Davis was also recently a Fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics.
